LISBON LIONS SET TO ENTER HALL OF FAME

THE Lisbon Lions are to be inducted into Scottish Football’s Hall of Fame at a gala dinner in Glasgow next month. In the 50th anniversary year of their legendary 2-1 win over Inter Milan in the European Cup final, the achievement will be formally recognised at the event at Hampden on October 15. ‘It is very humbling to be honoured in this way and we are delighted to receive this kind of recognition,’ said defender Jim Craig on behalf of the Lions. ‘It has been an emotional year for all the Lions and our families.’
