Disgust of Bond girl who fought him off
ACTRESS Eva Green has told how she had to fight off Harvey Weinstein at a business meeting in Paris around six years ago.
The Bond girl said the Hollywood producer left her feeling ‘shocked and disgusted’.
Miss Green, 37, who played Vesper Lynd in the 2006 Bond film Casino Royale, told Variety magazine: ‘I met him for a business meeting in Paris at which he behaved inappropriately and I had to push him off.
‘I got away without it going further but the experience left me shocked and disgusted.’
The French actress spoke out after her mother, Marlene Jobert, accused Weinstein of threatening to ‘destroy’ Miss Green’s career after she rejected him at the meeting, which took place in either 2010 or 2011. Miss Jobert called him ‘that fat pig’ and said he tried to stop her daughter being cast in roles, adding: ‘It is essential that this odious person is prosecuted.’
Miss Green, right, said she decided to speak out after hearing other women’s experiences with him. She said: ‘I salute the great bravery of the women who have come forward. We should recognise that this sort of behaviour exists everywhere and is not unique to the entertainment industry. The exploitation of power is ubiquitous.’
Bond girl Lea Seydoux has also accused Weinstein of inappropriate sexual behaviour.
