Unworthy of office

-

Isn’t it time politicians of all parties and none started behaving themselves?

In recent years they’ve been guilty of everything from drunken bar room brawls at Westminster to social media trolling and all manner of unsavoury conduct in between.

Last week we saw the snP’s Mark McDonald suspended following allegations of ‘inappropriate’ behaviour towards women, at least some of which he’s admitted.

this week, Labour’s Kezia Dugdale has decided to up sticks and take part in a three-week reality tV show in Australia, without the permission of her party.

I have worked for several employers over a period of three decades and I’m quite certain I’d have been handed my P45 and my coat had I conducted myself in the manner referred to above.

Our elected politicians, both at Holyrood and Westminster, should feel genuinely privileged that the public voted them into office to take care of the issues that most affect their lives. It’s high time they all started behaving themselves in a manner that’s befitting of their office, their generous salary and the trust the great British public have placed in them.

We all deserve better. A Morrison, Dyce, Aberdeenshire.
