Too ill for A&E

-

WE learn that A&E departments in Scottish hospitals are under severe pressure and that there are doubts about their ability to maintain desirable standards of safety and quality.

We already knew that waiting up to eight hours for attention is not unusual.

recently, on a Sunday, I had what might be called a ‘turn’ when meeting friends in town. It was suggested to me that I should go to A&E to get checked out.

No thanks, I told my friends. I’m not WELL enough to go to A&E. JILL STePHeNSON, edinburgh.
