Distorting Brexit facts

-

I SEE Nicola Sturgeon misreading the public mood on Brexit again.

She blames Leave voters for the loss of hundreds of jobs as EU institutions exit London for Amsterdam and Paris. It’s the EU which is relocating the jobs and handing out P45s. Very many of the Leave voters she is quick to insult are members of her own SNP.

And further down the line, the UK Government will have to set up British equivalents of the EU watchdogs which are leaving, creating jobs.

Miss Sturgeon is surrounded by pro-EU fans who are not typical of the people in the real world.

j. Livingstone, glasgow. UNTIL the EU gives us an itemised bill, we should not be engaging in any talks about a payout. We should demand an itemised deduction for the 1/28th of all the buildings and infrastructure we have contributed to and will no longer be using.

In months of talks, we have not resolved a single issue, so trade talks stand no chance of being completed. We should pack our bags and go.

MiKe PARMenteR, sleaford, Lincs. THE Prime Minister must tell those unelected, unaccountable, overpaid bureaucrats in Brussels that we’ll pay £20 billion or nothing — take it or leave it.

And once we’ve left the EU, we’ll use our own legal system, immigration rules and human rights legislation.

We managed well for more than 950 years without Europe’s intervention, so let’s get on with it.

teRRY CALDon, thanet, Kent. HOW is it possible for the U.S., China, India, Brazil and Russia to trade without having a trade agreement with the EU when we have been told we will fail if we don’t have one? MALCoLM HARRington,

southampton. WHEN I voted to Leave, I don’t remember any mention of a £20 billion or £40 billion bill. I realised we would have some financial commitments, such as the Kinnock family’s lucrative pensions, but I didn’t expect they would be getting that much.
