MEN OF EVIL Hunting Down The Nazis, 8pm, Yesterday COOL-HEADED new two-parter that relates how Nazis such as Rudolf Hess were brought to justice and, in doing so, details their crimes. Some of the footage is upsetting, but it’s important that the scale of the Nazi atrocities should never be forgotten. FACT-BASED FILM Loving, 8pm, Sky Select POWERFUL drama starring Joel Edgerton and Ruth Negga as the Lovings, who in 1967 won a landmark civil rights case that changed laws banning interracia­l marriage. PERIOD DRESS A Stitch In Time, 8.30pm, BBC4 AMBER BUTCHART (pictured) believes that, in the words of Louis XIV, ‘Fashion is the mirror of history.’ In the first of her new series, the finely styled historian examines and dons the garments of the past to find out what they tell us — beginning with ‘merry monarch’ Charles II. FREEVIEW ACTION Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows, 9pm, ITV2 GUY RITCHIE directs Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law (pictured with Noomi Rapace) as Watson and Holmes in this second excitably overstyled romp. Dark games are afoot in Victorian London — and beyond — as Holmes’s nemesis, Professor Moriarty (Jared Harris), pulls the strings.
