Travelling to N Korea? Write a will
AMERICANS planning a trip to North Korea have been told to write a will.
New travel advice also tells tourists to designate carers for their children and prepare for the worst.
The US government warning follows rules issued last year that require Americans to apply for special validation to travel to the country.
They were introduced after the death of US student Otto Warmbier, who was arrested while on holiday in Pyongyang. Mr Warmbier, 22, was sentenced to 15 years of hard labour but returned home last summer in a coma and died shortly afterwards.
The new recommendation states: ‘Draft a will and designate appropriate insurance beneficiaries and/or power of attorney; discuss a plan with loved ones regarding care/custody of children, pet, property (and) belongings.’
