‘Fat fears crippled me,’ says TV favourite Zoe

-

ACTRESS Zoe Wanamaker admits she used to be so obsessed with her weight and her looks that it had a catastrophic effect on her sense of confidence.

‘I would tell my younger self to stop being obsessed by my weight. I used to think I was too fat. And I used to think I was ugly,’ admits the daughter of the late American actor and director Sam Wanamaker. But happily the 68-year-old My Family star, who is now married to fellow thespian Gawn Grainger, insists she has developed a much healthier self-regard.

‘You are what you are. Enjoy it. That is so important. It crippled me for some time.

‘I am acting in front of people and being judged by the way I f ****** look? That is difficult.’
