tv presenter nick Knowles was engulfed in a war of words with his estranged wife last night amid accusations of physical and emotional abuse.

Jessica rose Moor, 30, had claimed she has evidence of his mistreatment in ‘images and diaries’. she also alleged he had refused to pay for the education of their young son, eddie.

that led the 55-year-old host of home renovation series DIY sOs, who separated from his wife in January 2016, to deny the allegations yesterday.

Hours later, Miss rose Moor hit back online, saying: ‘nick may be intelligent but he is not smart. He is now denying that he withdrew his promise to send eddie to private school but it was sent by his solicitor to mine. He has also denied years of cruelty but I do have diaries and photographic proof.’

she then alleged that the presenter ‘abandoned’ her while on holiday. she wrote: ‘All I want is for him to keep all the promises he made to me and eddie when he walked out of our lives to have a string of girlfriends after abandoning us in spain. If he does not keep his promises, my only option (since I can’t afford to fight it legally – which he knows) is to publish all that I have including witness statements.’

In her original claims, Miss rose Moor used twitter to broadcast what she described as an ‘open letter about my divorce’. A spokesman for Knowles denied the abuse claims, saying: ‘these allegations are not true but nick will not be responding publicly in an attempt to minimise the negative impact on his son.’

the couple, who were married for three years, had previously vowed to maintain a civil relationship for the sake of their three-year-old, and last month were pictured on holiday together in Barbados.

Although Miss rose Moor’s statement initially focused on their son’s education, she then accused Knowles, who has three other children, of violent behaviour. she wrote: ‘It has been long agreed by my (soon to be ex) husband that eddie would be privately educated – a luxury he is in the position to afford, as he has done for all his other children.

‘As such, eddie is enrolled to start private school this september... except that he won’t as I was advised by my husband’s solicitor that this offer has been withdrawn.

‘After years of intimidation, emotional cruelty, physical abuse and eventually isolation (that I have kept silent about – of which I have diaries and images), this is the straw that broke the camel’s back.

‘My husband has also said he will not purchase a house or give a settlement of any kind for us. this is disappointing but not unexpected – some people’s generosity is only present in front of the tv cameras.’

A close friend of Knowles, who also hosts BBC game show Who Dares Wins, said he is currently paying his estranged wife £4,000 a month but will keep a ‘dignified silence’ on her allegations for the sake of their son.

the friend added: ‘Friends and family are urging nick to defend these allegations made by Jess. nick, however, won’t as he won’t put eddie in a position that could affect him – one day he could read all this stuff.

‘nick is worried for Jess’s mental health and stability – £4,000 a month to spend should be enough to get by.

‘He has not said he’ll not pay for eddie’s schooling, he’s said he just won’t put it in the divorce because he’s worried about her spending it.’

Knowles has been linked to several younger women since the couple separated, but has said claims he is a ‘womaniser’ are nonsense.
