I’m so self conscious about the fair hair on my face

Anti-agers no one but you need know about

QI HAVE a lot of fair hair on the lower part of my face, which I’m so selfconscious about. I tried a laser session, but it didn’t work. Is there anything else I can do?

ALasers are attracted to pigment in hair or skin so can’t be used on very fair hair. The only tried and tested way to remove it is advanced electrolysis. (Check the British Institute & association of electrolysis at electrolysis.co.uk for a certified professional.)

It involves inserting a fine needle into every hair follicle to destroy its growth centre. That’s not painless and takes regular sessions — as many as 25 or so, depending on the size of the area, over many months, as different hairs grow at different stages, but results really are permanent. expect to pay around £1,000.

If you can’t make that commitment, Dr Vicky Dondos of London’s Medicetics clinic suggests dermaplaning by a medically-supervised aesthetician.

Dermplaning involves using a surgical scalpel to ‘shave’ the very top layer of the skin including the hair. It sounds terrifying, but doesn’t hurt.

However, it costs about £60 and you’ll need it done every two weeks.

If not, go for threading, in which a beautician whips away fine hairs by catching them between a length of cotton thread. It stings a bit, but only costs around £10 and the results last a month.
