LADY BOSSES Fifty eight of the UK’s largest companies have agreed to try and ensure 30pc of their senior leadership teams are women by the end of 2020. Those signed up to the 30pc Club campaign group include Vodafone, Sainsbury’s and Tesco.

SEEING RED FTSE firms issued 81 profit warnings during the last quarter of 2017, up from 75 in the previous quarter and 11pc higher than in the same quarter of 2016, according to research by accountanc­y firm EY.

FLYING HIGH A commercial aircraft backlog of 14,312 planes will be worth up to £212bn to UK industry in coming years, with deliveries in 2017 worth up to £29bn, says trade body ADS.

WAGE WARS Data from the Pensions and Lifetimes Savings Associatio­n shows that investor revolts over bosses’ pay fell last year. FTSE 100 firms faced an average revolt of 8.4pc on pay reports, compared to 9.7pc in 2016.

MIGRANT WORKERS Almost 20pc of City workers in 2016 were migrants from continenta­l European countries, the highest figure since records began and compared to 8pc ten years earlier. The figures were unearthed by the City of London Corporatio­n.

CASH PILE Many small businesses have yet to receive help to cope with business rates that was promised by the Government. Research by consultanc­y Gerald Eve found more than 40pc of the £175m allocated to councils to help businesses in the year ending March 2018 had not been passed on to local firms.
