Two dryers, 3 sets of tongs, £6 spray and 13 brushes ... £900 kit that keeps Kate’s curls lustrous!
HER hair is most definitely her crowning glory.
So with the Duchess of Cambridge on a high-profile, four-day tour of Scandinavia this week, her stylist Amanda Cook Tucker isn’t travelling light.
This photograph the hairdresser posted yesterday on picture-sharing site Instagram reveals the tricks of her trade, with a total price tag of well over £900 … 1) 13 BRUSHES Mrs Cook Tucker, who has travelled with Kate since her first foreign tour in 2011, is taking no fewer than nine vent brushes, to create her trademark curls, including several Balmain Paris models costing around £40 each. There are four paddle brushes, including an £86 Mason Pearson. 2) 7 COMBS Two metal-handled tail combs for backcombing as well as smaller, wide-toothed combs for wet hair. 3) SPRAY GUN For filling with water to damp down and restyle hair without washing. 4) PRODUCTS A-PLENTY The £6.70 can of Elnett hairspray is a staple of most hairdressers’ kits. Kiehl’s Creme with Silk Groom, £18, is non-greasy and particularly good for those with natural, curly hair. Also: Charles Worthington Volume & Bounce mousse, £5.99; Wella Professionals EIMI Ocean Spritz spray, £8.48; Charles Worthington Perfect Finish hairspray, £6.99; and Redken Pillow Proof Blow Dry spray £13. 5) 3 pairs of TONGS Two are wide-barrelled for large, loose curls, believed to be by Diva at £44.99 and Babyliss at £37.50. The other is a £120 GHD conical wand, for tighter curls. 6) and 9) ADAPTORS/SOCKETS Vital for travel in Europe. 7) HEAT MAT So hot appliances do not damage the furnishings. 8) 2 HAIRDRYERS One is a salon favourite, a £73.80 Parlux Twin Turbo 2600 – and another for back-up. 10) CLIPS, TOWELS Mrs Cook Tucker, whose services on the tour of Sweden and Norway are being paid for privately by William and Kate, has packed clips, bobby pins and hair dividers as well as microfibre towels.
Celebrity hairdresser Jason Collier said: ‘I’m not surprised Kate’s hairdresser has such a substantial kit. We’ve come to expect Kate to look impeccably groomed. There’s everything a stylist could need to create hair worthy of a princess.’
