Chinese in £6m move for Morelos

- By MARK WILSON

RANGERS have received an offer potentially worth up to £6million for striker Alfredo Morelos from a Chinese Super League club. The Colombian has attracted interest after scoring 13 times for the Ibrox side following a £1.5million move from HJK Helsinki last summer. Reports have linked Guangzhou with an approach but, while the identity of the club has not been confirmed,

Sportsmail understands the lucrative package put forward approached £6m with add-ons included. Despite the sizeable

profit that could be banked after just seven months, Rangers appear likely to resist the offer as they would only have limited time to source a suitable replacement ahead of tomorrow night’s transfer deadline. It remains to be seen whether a further bid could force a change in that stance. Morelos recently spoke of his happiness in Scotland but admitted he was targeting a move to England, Spain or Italy at the end of the season. Manager Graeme Murty insisted he had no problem with that ambition but warned suitors the exciting forward would only be sold for a ‘barrowload of cash’. Meanwhile, Danny Wilson last night completed his exit from Rangers by signing a three-year contract with Colorado Rapids. The 26-year-old defender will begin his new career when the MLS season kicks off in March. ‘I’d like to thank Rangers and the fans,’ said Wilson. ‘The Rapids have a very ambitious vision for the future and I can’t wait to join the team.’
