Voters should know backers, says Miller
THE founder of Best for Britain last night called it ‘undemocratic’ and said it must disclose its financial supporters.
Gina Miller (above), who is no longer a member, said the public has a ‘right to know’ its backers.
She told the Daily Telegraph: ‘This is not where this should be going. It [Better for Britain] is undemocratic. This idea of bringing down a government and guerilla warfare, I don’t agree with any of that.
‘If you are going to have funders, the public has a right to know who they are. This is about the future of our country.’
In 2016, Mrs Miller was the public face of a court case to make the Government seek parliamentary approval before formally notifying the EU of its decision to withdraw. The Government lost the case and a vote was held.
