And watch for ‘husband’ cards that cost 50p more!
A SUPERMARKET was accused yesterday of charging wives more than husbands for a virtually identical Valentine’s card.
Shoppers complained after finding a Sainsbury’s ‘To My Wife’ card which cost £2, while the ‘To My Husband’ version cost 50p more. Customer Julie Marlow spotted the cards at a branch in Cornwall and shared a picture of both on Twitter, showing nearidentical design featuring a heart and felt dogs.
She said: ‘What’s going on here? Why do I have to pay 50p more for a card for my husband than he has to spend for virtually the same card?’
A Sainsbury’s spokesman said it was an error and added: ‘Both designs are now available in store for £2.
