LIVELY sci-fi thriller set in a future when time travel is black-market technology in the hands of gangsters who use it to kill off their enemies. Bruce Willis (pictured) is one such hit man — a so-called Looper — who is destined for a fateful meeting with his younger self (played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt).

STANDARD-ISSUE action fare, given a boost by some tricksy camerawork and fine central performances. Denzel Washington plays a rogue CIA man under house arrest, while Ryan Reynolds is the agent trying to keep Washington out of trouble.
