Brakes on Motability

I hAVE a Motability car and can’t understand why I was charged the full VAT by the dealer when ordering a car through the scheme, yet Motability is VAT exempt.

This means not only does the company take an upfront payment, but is able to claim back VAT.

I am grateful for the scheme, but aghast at how Motability has been able to accrue a vast cash surplus in addition to the indecent salaries paid to those at the helm.
