Now acting chief facing complaint
POLICE Scotland’s acting chief constable is facing an investigation by watchdogs, it emerged yesterday.
The Scottish Police Authority is ‘assessing’ a complaint made against Deputy Chief Constable Iain Livingstone by a serving police officer.
It comes days after chief constable Phil Gormley quit after being on ‘special leave’ for five months.
Seven complaints were made against Mr Gormley, who denied any wrongdoing.
If SPA chiefs deem the case against Mr Livingstone sufficient, it will then be passed to the Police Investigations and Review Commissioner for investigation.
It is believed the complaint was made by detective constable Andrew Reid.
Police Scotland was unavailable for comment last night.
