Murder inquiry launched

-

POLICE have launched a murder hunt after a man was found dead in a flat by police.

Alan Glancy was discovered in a property in Port Hamilton, Edinburgh, after officers were called out to the flat on February 1.

However, it wasn’t until post-mortem examination results came back more than a week later that they revealed Mr Glancy had been murdered.

The 47-year-old victim’s last known whereabouts are being investigated by police.

Officers say the Hibs fan attended a medical appointment on January 9. Police are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen him between then and February 1.

Detective Chief Inspector David Pinkney, of Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team, said: ‘We are investigating the last known whereabouts of Alan and are keen to speak to anyone who might be able to assist us with this.’
