HE was no criminal mastermind – but he can take swift flight and may leave pursuers in a flap.
Police officers near Reading kept their cool on a mission to rescue a swan which was stranded on the A33. PC Jamie Payne caught the bird on foot and took it away in a patrol car – just like in the film Hot Fuzz. The swan, which officers named Sam, was handed to a bird charity.
