IT is a sight guaranteed to cause major tailbacks – and this dog in the driver’s seat certainly got tongues wagging.

Motorists were stunned to see the golden retriever behind the wheel, especially since the car is a Reliant Kitten. The motoring mutt was spotted at a petrol station in Falkirk.

Onlooker Vicki Craig, from Bathgate, West Lothian, said: ‘His owner got out and he jumped in the front seat and waited patiently for him coming back. When his owner came back he hopped right back to the passenger side. It was adorable.

‘The owner was in his late 60s but all I said to him was, “What a fantastic dog”.’
