Meghan puts off her hen do

FRIENDS worried they weren’t invited to Meghan Markle’s reported ‘hen do’ earlier this week have no need to fret. I hear Prince Harry’s fiancee has yet to stage her all-girl bash, despite claims that she held the event at a ‘glamorous five-star spa retreat’ on Sunday.

A royal source tells me: ‘The hen do won’t be until Meghan’s mother, Doria Radlan, and her best friend, Jessica Mulroney, fly over for the church service where she will be baptised and confirmed into the Church of England.

‘The hen party will be held around the same time. Meghan wants Jessica and her mum to be there. The spa visit was just a trip with a few friends.’

The service, to be conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, and held at Kensington Palace’s 19th-century chapel, is expected to take place imminently.

Doria — who divorced Meghan’s father, Tom Markle, when her daughter was six years old — lives in California, while Mrs Mulroney, the daughter-in-law of Canada’s former prime minister Brian Mulroney, is a fashion stylist in Toronto. Meghan lived in Canada while filming the legal drama Suits.

It’s not known where Meghan’s hen party, or ‘bachelorette bash’ as the 36-year-old American actress calls it, will be held.

Last month, she told well-wishers during a visit to Edinburgh that her hen do was all ‘sorted’.

‘We asked them what they were doing for their stag and hen dos,’ one fan, Tom Martin, reported at the time. ‘Meghan said: “I’m not sure — it’s sorted but it will be fun.” Harry said he “didn’t know”. I’m sure William’s got something up his sleeve.’

Kate Middleton celebrated her last days as a single woman with a private party attended by a small group of close friends.
