AN ANGRY wife slashed her 40-year-old husband’s face with scissors after discovering he was having an affair with a woman in her late seventies.

Children’s fashion designer Charlotte Laudat, 31, launched her attack after finding naked photos of the much older woman on the phone of her husband Simon.

She yelled at him that he was ‘going to die tonight’ and such was the ferocity of her assault that Mr Laudat had to jump from a firstfloor window.

He damaged both ankles in the fall and now needs a wheelchair or walking frame to move around.

Laudat, who is pregnant, was warned she could be jailed after she admitted charges of unlawful wounding and inflicting grievous bodily harm at Blackfriars Crown Court in London this week.

Prosecutor Gino Connor said the couple, who married in 2016, had attended a property management course together in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, on October 26 last year.

Laudat found a number of nude photos of an older woman on her husband’s phone. She said: ‘I saw various pictures of a lady in her late seventies – naked. I never wanted to see them again.’

She said she learned her husband and the woman had an ‘agreement’ for £50 and dinner, adding: ‘It was a sex meeting that was going on – which was even weirder.’ Initially Laudat believed the relationship was a ‘joke’ but her husband admitted having an affair with the woman.

Later that evening he tried to talk over the issue at their flat in Finsbury Park, North London. A phone call was made to the woman involved with Mr Laudat and it was then that his wife flew into a rage, the court heard. Mr Connor said: ‘She was shouting and screaming abuse – she attacked her husband with a pair of scissors. She started to slash at his face saying “I will cut your eye open”.’

Mr Laudat – who gave evidence to the court sitting in his wheelchair – said his wife inflicted eight wounds using the scissors. He initially pleaded with his wife to stop the attack but admitted grabbing her hair in an attempt to prevent the onslaught.

‘After she hit me the first time with the scissors I backed away because I was in shock,’ he told the court. ‘She then put the scissors inside the knuckles and basically punched me.’

At one point Laudat shouted at her husband: ‘You’re suffering tonight – you are going to die tonight.’ After this, Mr Laudat jumped from a firstfloor kitchen window and seriously injured both ankles.

During her trial, Laudat claimed her husband had first tried to attack her with the scissors. She said she acted in self-defence and he was only wounded as the pair struggled.

However, Judge Sullivan said: ‘I have no doubt it was she who produced the scissors and used them.’ The designer wept as the judge warned her she could be jailed when she is sentenced next month, the London evening Standard reported.

She is the owner and creator of children’s clothing brands – Baby Little Lott Newborn for under-twos, a range for children aged between three and 12 and Teen Little Lott London for children between 13 and 15.

Laudat’s brand has been operating for two years and is said to offer ‘alternative edgy London street wear for children’. Her husband Simon is founder and director of a company called SPL Nutrition Limited.

Last night neighbours said the couple had separated. One described Laudat as ‘scary and unpredictable’.

She was freed on bail and will be sentenced on April 13.
