Whistleblower hits GSK with lawsuit in US

-

GLAXOSMITHKLINE is facing a lawsuit over claims it fired a worker who blew the whistle on a series of botched IT projects.

The pharma business is alleged to have sacked Thomas Reilly after he flagged up concerns over a period of seven years.

Problems he warned about later led to serious issues at factories around the world, according to district court documents filed in the US.

But after raising his concerns with managers Reilly, who had worked on IT projects for the company all over the world, was told he would lose his job to an outsourcer. He later contacted former GSK boss Sir Andrew Witty directly about the issues, but an internal investigation came to nothing.

A spokesman for GSK said it denied Reilly’s claims and found no evidence to support them.
