LEEDS UNITED TO BOOST WARRINGTON’S DREAM
JOSH WARRINGTON will be roared on by up to 30,000 fans in his home city tonight when he challenges Lee Selby for his world featherweight title at Leeds’ Elland Road. Lifelong Leeds United fan Warrington, 22, said: ‘When I was a kid watching Leeds I started to picture how amazing it would be if I could ever fight in this stadium.’ Unbeaten Warrington needs to produce the finest performance of his career against Selby, the experienced 31-year-old IBF champion from Wales, if he is to have a chance of fulfilling his world title dream. Carl Frampton has Belfast’s Windsor Park booked for what he hopes will be a chance to regain his world championship status on August 18. That is most likely to be against Selby unless Warrington draws inspiration from the frenzied atmosphere.
