Boiling water from small twigs
The protective cork or stopper should always be removed from the kettle and never put back until it is finished with.
The base is filled with combustible material such as newspaper, dry grass or very small twigs. The kettle is then placed securely on the base.
The fire is lit through the hole(s) in side of the base with the hole(s) sited into the wind for extra draught.
Additional fuel is inserted through the chimney (small twigs or pine cones).
When the water boils, the handle and chain are used for pouring.
