Lennon racks up yet another touchline ban
NEIL LENNON will serve a touchline ban for Hibernian’s first three league games of the new season after incurring the wrath of the SFA yet again. The Easter Road boss has been disciplined for his on-field aeroplane celebration which followed Jamie Maclaren’s
dramatic stoppage-time equaliser in a thrilling 5-5 draw with Rangers on the final day of last season. Lennon was subsequently ushered up the tunnel by fourth official Bobby Madden. Excused from Betfred Cup duty due to Hibs’ involvement in the Europa League qualifiers, the Northern Irishman will sit out the opening league games of the new campaign against Motherwell, St Johnstone and Aberdeen. Lennon was handed a one-match touchline ban after admitting an SFA disciplinary charge of ‘misconduct at a match’. An admission of guilt from the 46-year-old automatically triggered a suspended two-match ban which was hanging over his head from March after a furious bust-up with referee Kevin Clancy at Kilmarnock.
