Wimbledon’s leading ladies... and one little smasher!
SERENA Williams has shared a picture of her baby daughter checking out the practice court at Wimbledon ahead of the tournament beginning next Monday.
Miss Williams, 36, returns to SW19 after taking more than a year off to have Alexis, now nine months.
The seven-times champion was yesterday spotted at Wimbledon for the first time since winning the singles title two years ago.
Alexis – in her own little tennis whites with a bow in her hair – was snapped touching the freshly cut grass on the practice court.
Miss Williams, who is married to Reddit founder Alexis Ohanian, 35, shared the photo on her daughter’s own Instagram account with the caption: ‘Hummm that looks yummy #wimbledon go Mommy.’
Later Miss Williams looked relaxed as she arrived at a party for women players.
British hopeful Johanna Konta, 27, caught the eye with her sweptback hair revealing a colourful studded ear cuff.
Also at the OXO2 venue on London’s South Bank were Heather Watson, reigning champion Garbine Muguruza, Caroline Wozniacki and Eugenie Bouchard.
Sir Andy Murray’s mother Judy refused to be drawn on whether or not her son, recently back from injury, would play at Wimbledon.
