Lidl to create 300 Scots jobs
SUPERMARKET Lidl is to create more than 300 jobs in Scotland.
Up to 40 posts will be available at each of five new stores planned for Edinburgh, Paisley, Dumbarton, Giffnock in Renfrewshire and East Kilbride in Lanarkshire, all within the next 18 months.
Another 100 jobs will be created at Lidl’s new regional distribution centre at the Eurocentral industrial estate in Lanarkshire, due to open next year. A further 250 warehouse posts are also being planned.
Lidl’s Ross Millar said he was ‘delighted to be able to create jobs’ and expand the firm’s 2,200-strong workforce.
