THEY ARE ALWAYS SO OUTRAGED...

-

AT ONE time, Radio 4 was turned on in my house at 7am and off at 6pm — now it’s only turned on for The Archers. I can’t stand the bleeding heart, Left wing, oh-so-politically-correct content of every programme, whether it’s (so-called) news, discussions (always one-sided), comedy (not a titter from me) or drama (ugh, non-stop regional accents I can’t understand). Screeching, squawking female voices. A daylong whinge! I don’t want to hear it. The bias of the Today programme is bad enough, but now compounded by the dreadful Mishal Husain and her other new (and far squeakier) presenter, Martha Kearney. Mishal takes a stance, PC Max Strength, and if her interviewee won’t comply with her outrage (and there is always outrage), she splutters and sighs and the interview stops. To be honest, this doesn’t happen that often as the BBC makes sure most of its interviewees are of the liberal persuasion. It’s a horrible start to the day so I chose to stop listening. I am 71, female and want grit and even-handed debate from Radio 4, not high-pitched whingeing from the PC brigade. Jo Hatfield, Market Harborough.
