MEL GIBSON’S Max is a little less mad in

this second sequel — and the story takes a left turn, too, with Max coming to the rescue of children lost in a postapocalyptic limbo. As an Amazonian ruler, Tina Turner can’t act, but she looks the part (and sings the theme tune).

Alien 3, 12.35am, Ch4

THIS sequel got lost in the primordial ooze of its own creation. In other words, it’s a mess — but not of director David Fincher’s making, rather a result of studio meddling. The maternal role of Ripley (Sigourney Weaver, pictured) is milked for all it’s worth on a prison planet of all-male inmates (and a few aliens).
