THE return of this heartwarmi­ng and very finely filmed Canadian drama, based on the novel Anne Of Green Gables and set at the end of the 19th century. Anne (Amybeth McNulty, pictured) is a spirited orphan whose love of life — despite the obstacles it places in her path — lifts all those around her, especially the ageing siblings who take her in to help at their farm.

CRIME FIGHTERS The Persuaders!, 8pm, True Entertainm­ent

ROGER MOORE plays Lord Brett Sinclair, whose surname rhymes with debonair, while Tony Curtis is Danny Wilde, the crude, up-byhis-bootstraps American. These two playboys (pictured) come together to fight crime in an amusingly ridiculous Seventies series that

SKY’S adventure yarn is best enjoyed by not just suspending your disbelief, but by burying it in the back garden. Here, events conspire to bring Hooten and the lady together in Rome on a quest for an ancient book. There, Jane Seymour lounges in bars, playing the lady’s mum.

SENSITIVE viewers, beware — Netflix’s new Indian drama opens with a dead dog. What follows is an atmospheri­c twist on crime drama, based around a Mumbai detective (Saif Ali Khanm, pictured) and a crimelord who steadily learn that their rivalry is a small part of something much bigger.

MIDGE URE and Kim Appleby take a fun trip down memory lane to meet the new wave of bands who dominated the charts during one of the most flamboyant decades in pop. Gary Kemp reflects on the rise of the New Romantics, while Clare Grogan recalls how Spandau Ballet and Altered Images used to play each other at five-a-side football in Glasgow, along with ‘whoever else was touring’.
