SEED IN DANGER

LAST year’s shock semi-finalist Sam Querrey takes on the weird and wonderful talent of Gael Monfils in the first match on Centre Court. The American, seeded 11, put away a hobbling Andy Murray in the quarters last year and his game is based around a booming serve and forehand. Both of those weapons will have to be firing. If the rallies are short, Querrey will win; if they are long, expect Monfils — an astonishing athlete — to come out on top.
