If Dad dies Meghan will be to blame

Duchess’s half-sister lashes out in bizarre online rant

THE Duchess of Sussex has been subjected to another rant from her estranged half-sister, who told her: ‘If our father dies I’m holding you responsible.’

Samantha Markle, 53, took to Twitter to unleash a volley of insults at Meghan, whom she accuses of abandoning their father.

Samantha’s latest outburst, one of many on social media in recent months, also saw her tell the duchess, 36, that she should start acting like a ‘humanitarian’.

She wrote yesterday: ‘My father is not an embarrassment for loving his daughter! The royals are an embarrassment for being so cold. You should be ashamed of yourselves @KensingtonRoyal.’

Referring to the couple’s official engagement to open a new Nelson Mandela exhibition in London earlier in the day, she continued: ‘How about you pay tribute to your own father?!

‘Enough is enough. Act like a humanitarian, act like a woman! If our father dies I’m holding you responsible, Meg!

‘Glad you have so much time to gallivant around paying tribute to others while ignoring your own father! How cold can you be and look in the mirror? Harry? I guess I was right.’

Her comments attracted criticism from social media users, one of whom said: ‘Might I respectfully suggest he [Mr Markle] stops giving endless interviews that completely undermine and embarrass her?’ But a clearly angry Samantha replied: ‘It’s pretty sick that there is a need for him to speak out.

‘Might I suggest you shut up! Might I suggest the royals act humanely towards my father.’ A few days ago she also ranted: ‘All the PR in the world cannot change the reality that the burden is on her to step up to the plate and do the right thing and not ignore our father.

‘Hate to burst your bubble but she does not walk on water and she owes our father love and respect. She can do the right thing by our father or regret it for the rest of her life. It is morally unconscionable to ignore him as he has made her everything that she is.’

Mr Markle, 74, who lives a largely reclusive life in Mexico, left both himself and his daughter humiliated after he was caught accepting money for staged paparazzi photographs in the run-up to the royal wedding in May.

The former Hollywood lighting director later underwent heart surgery and was forced to pull out of giving his daughter away after a week of flip-flopping over whether he should come to Britain.

He has since said he apologised on the phone to Prince Harry – who, remarkably, he has still never met despite him dating his daughter for over two years – and offered to come to England to see them.

But he has not spoken to them since May and has now given a series of paid media interviews, including to ITV’s Good Morning Britain, criticising his daughter and her new husband.

On Tuesday he embarrassingly vowed that he wouldn’t stop talking to the media until his daughter accepted him back.

He told US gossip site TMZ: ‘Apparently that interview put the royal family in their silence mode … so, I gave another interview to break the silence. All they have to do is speak to me.’

Kensington Palace declined to comment on the latest outburst from the duchess’s family.
