What IS ex-Yard chief doing in Rolls with crime lord’s godson?

LAUGHING and joking in the back of a Rolls-Royce after partying at a top West End nightclub, these two men clearly enjoy each other’s company.

One is Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone’s former son-in-law James Stunt, 36, whose godfather has been dubbed the head of Britain’s most notorious crime family.

The other is disgraced former Scotland Yard commander Ali Dizaei, 56, who was twice jailed for police corruption. A fortnight after the Mail revealed details of the extraordinary jet-setting lifestyle of Dizaei – now an ‘international entrepreneur’ – pictures emerged of him with gold bullion tycoon Mr Stunt.

The pair, who share an interest in designer clothes, flash cars and attractive women, grinned and posed for pictures after rolling out of London’s Tramp nightclub surrounded by friends and minders.

Mr Stunt left shortly before 3am followed by his on-off girlfriend, ex-Hollyoaks actress Samantha Rowley, 30, and Dizaei.

The multi-millionaire, who looked the worse for wear, was pictured after vehemently denying he rubbed cocaine into his gums during a court battle with ex-wife, 29-year-old Petra.

Last year Mr Stunt appeared relaxed in the back of his Rolls-Royce with Terry Adams, the ‘Godfather’ of a crime family which has been linked to 25 murders, money laundering, racketeering and extortion.

According to reports, Adams contacted Mr Ecclestone, 87, and offered to help to negotiate financial and other matters relating to his marital split. Petra was later granted a divorce after six years of marriage to Mr Stunt, with whom she has three children.

Lawyers revealed a settlement had been reached as the couple were due to begin a two-day court hearing. Their assets included a £100million Chelsea mansion and £158million home in Los Angeles.

Now playboy Mr Stunt appears to have forged a friendship with three-times married Dizaei, who gained a reputation as a ladies’ man while reaching the fifth most senior rank with the Metropolitan Police on £90,000 a year before his career ended in jail and disgrace.

Dizaei had emerged unscathed from a series of inquiries, including a multi-million-pound operation examining claims of corruption, fraud and dishonesty.

In 2003, he was awarded around £80,000 compensation and a promise of fast-track promotion after a court case ended in him being cleared of corruption.
