- By SEAN VINCENT

JOSH TAYLOR is remaining in Glasgow for his next bout after the SSE Hydro was confirmed as the venue for his opening World Boxing Super Series fight against Ryan Martin. The WBC Silver super-lightweight champion will take on the American in the quarter-finals on Saturday, November 3. Taylor, who has won all his 13 previous contests, beat Winston Campos and Viktor Postol at the arena earlier this year. As well as bidding to get his hands on the Muhammad Ali Trophy, Taylor would also realise his career-long dream of becoming a world champion should he win the competition. The WBA and IBF belts are up for grabs in the semi-final and final, respectively. Taylor said: ‘I cannot wait for November 3 in Glasgow. I’m delighted to be boxing in Scotland in front of my home fans. ‘The Scots will get to see the World Boxing Super Series show come to town and I will put on a winning performance to keep them singing. ‘My team and I believe I can win the Muhammad Ali Trophy and both world title belts and the first step on that journey is in Glasgow against Ryan Martin. I will be ready.’ Ryan Burnett and Nonito Donaire will also fight for the WBA bantamweight title in their quarter-final clash on the Taylor-fight undercard. WBSS chief Boxing Officer Kalle Sauerland said: ‘There are some big UK boxing nights in 2018 but this double-header has so much depth and quality. ‘This is really what the WBSS is all about. ‘Following on in the UK from the George Groves versus Chris Eubank Jr bout in Manchester, it’s fantastic to bring the biggest show in boxing to Scotland. ‘In addition, we will be putting on a massive UK undercard to complete the fireworks.’
