CASHING IN Families flocked to remortgage their homes ahead of the Bank of England hiking interest rates from 0.5pc to 0.75pc in August. Some 46,900 remortgage­s were completed in July, up 23.1pc on last year, says industry body UK Finance. the £8.7bn of deals marked the strongest remortgagi­ng market for July in more than a decade.
