ROYAL INSPIRATION

THE bride and groom aside, for me the real star of Princess Eugenie’s wedding to Jack Brooksbank last Friday was Prince Philip.

At the age of 97, he stoically walked from his car to his seat in the chapel. I know patients half his age who’d struggle to cover such a distance.

Those who know the prince say he has always strived to keep in shape, staying as active as possible, always preferring the stairs to taking a lift.

Indeed, he only retired from royal duties at the age of 96.

While the man may not be a natural diplomat, when it comes to how to keep going in the face of advancing years, the Duke of Edinburgh is someone from whom we can all take inspiration.
