KRIS BOYD (former Scotland international) ON: SQUAD HARMONY
When you rewind to the last campaign under Gordon Strachan we felt we were getting somewhere. The most important thing for me in international football is that players want to play and train with a smile on their face. It’s not happening now under Alex McLeish. You had eight people on the bench (on Sunday) — two goalkeepers. There’s something not right. The international stage is the pinnacle of your career and you want to go and enjoy it. But if you look at Leigh Griffiths or James McArthur, they don’t even want to be selected for Scotland. There’s a trust issue between the players and Alex looking at it. Griffiths has taken the hump a little bit and I can understand that. Everyone was turning up for games and get-togethers under Gordon. Everyone was enjoying it.
