The smart set’s talking about... David Walliams’ ex Sylvia Flote

-

WHEN Britain’s Got Talent judge David Walliams was spotted on a dinner date with Norwegian beauty Sylvia Flote last year, fans thought he might have found a model replacement for his ex-wife, Lara Stone.

But Little Britain funnyman Walliams, 47, failed to tickle Sylvia, 35, and she is instead now turning heads at the most selective Westminster soirees on the arm of peer’s son Luke Oakeshott, 33.

‘I met him at a picnic in Hampstead Heath,’ she tells me. ‘It was love at first sight for him.’

Army reservist Luke is the son of Lib Dem grandee Lord (Matthew) Oakeshott and a former model himself.

Now an art historian, he plans to propose to Sylvia, above right, this weekend, I hear.

‘He’s taking me to the countryside and said bring muddy boots, a raincoat and warm clothes,’ is all she will say.

‘He has a big personality and is one special guy.’

In recent weeks, the couple, right, have been spotted at prominent political gatherings including the launch party for Tory peer Michael Ashcroft’s latest book.

Sylvia entered the modelling business at the grand old age of 26 — when she was spotted in a shopping centre in Norway — and has since worked for Marks & Spencer, John Lewis and Debenhams after moving to London eight years ago.

‘They forgot to ask me what age I am,’ she jokes.

So what of her previous romance with Walliams? ‘It’s ancient history,’ she says.
