Splitting society couple put £6.5m love nest on market
THEIR marriage was billed as a ‘society mega-merger’ but now, 11 years later, Mark Swire and Syrie Mavroleon have ‘de-merged’.
Syrie, 53, whose father was shipping tycoon ‘Bluey’ Mavroleon and great-grandpa was playwright Somerset Maugham, has separated from company director Mark, 61, brother of ex Tory minister Sir Hugo Swire and kinsman of billionaire businessmen Barnaby and Merlin Swire, owners of the Swire Group.
‘They’re living apart, but it’s amicable,’ I’m told. While friends hope they can be reconciled, first indications are not encouraging. Manston House in Dorset, which they had lovingly restored, has just gone on the market for £6.5 million.
