Rise of the artisans
HUGE congratulations to Humphrey Errington and his family for winning not one, but three medals at the World Cheese Awards.
The embattled cheesemakers, who have been mired in legal issues for the past two years over the claim that an E.coli outbreak was linked to their Dunsyre Blue cheese, picked up two gold medals for their Corra Linn, and a silver for the new batch of Dunsyre Blue. Most firms would have folded under the pressure Errington, left, has experienced. That they have come back fighting, and with worldbeating cheese to boot, says much for their future renaissance.
A LONDON hotel has installed a vending machine selling £8 shots of single malt whisky. The really dangerous bit? The machine’s only in operation between 10pm and 2am. Talk about a nightcap.
