Should Camilla ever be crowned queen?

-

RELATIONSHIPS break down all too often, but to go into a marriage knowing you actively dislike the other person is unforgivable. For Charles to do this to the naive, young Diana, as has been claimed in a new biography, is callous in the extreme. I love the Royal Family, so am sad to say I do not want Prince Charles to be my king nor Camilla my queen.

Mrs JANE YOUNG, Colchester, Essex.

Prince charles is thoughtful and caring, which is borne out by the many young people who have benefited from the Prince’s Trust. he has been a spokesman for environmental issues, even though he was dismissed as an eccentric. he has now been proved right. his sons seem to be pleasant, welladjusted and fond of their father, despite the bitter and often unfair accusations made against him. he has clearly found happiness with the Duchess of cornwall. With her by his side there is every reason to believe he will be an excellent king.

J. C. BYRNE, Harrow, Middlesex.

WE ARE expected to look forward to Charles becoming our monarch and to forget his relationship with Camilla during his first marriage. His second wife is enjoying what his first one was denied. We cherish Diana’s memory and will remember at the coronation who should have been our queen.

J. THOMAS, Sheffield.

WHY are some people still blinkered in their unrealistic devotion to Diana? There was fault on both sides in that marriage. charles is able to redeem himself in his regrets, and care for his family, with his one true love by his side. i hope the young Princes can see the truth about their parents’ mismatch and think the best of them both.

J. KEY, Southampton, Hants.
