Rich Tory donor and ‘ten f loors of whores’
MORE than 100 prostitutes are working in an apartment block owned by a multi-millionaire who has donated almost £300,000 to the Tories, it emerged yesterday.
Theresa May last night faced calls to hand back donations from Christopher Moran, a property tycoon worth £404million.
The 70-year-old owns the Chelsea Cloisters block, which is used as a base for young women charging up to £300 an hour for sex through escort websites.
The building, in west London, has become so notorious that clients crudely refer to it as ‘Sodom and Gomorrah’ and the ‘infamous ten floors of whores’. One escort agency, 24hr London Escorts, even gives its office address as Chelsea Cloisters.
It states on its website: ‘The Chelsea Cloisters in London SW3 has always been a notorious place for accommodating sexy London escorts in London. And the tradition continues today.’
Diva Escorts advertises 89 prostitutes as being based in the building. The adverts were still online last night.
Another firm advises: ‘You can’t miss it. It’s the building teeming with escorts and rosy-cheeked men with empty wallets.’
Mr Moran earns millions in rent and service charges from the block of 670 flats, described by one client as a ‘battery farm’ of prostitutes. He has an office on the ground floor and his white Rolls-Royce is often outside. He has attended many events with members of the Royal Family, including the Queen and Prince Harry.
Undercover reporters from The Sunday Times made 40 bookings with sex workers using 23 apartments in Chelsea Cloisters – 15 of them in flats rented from Mr Moran’s company, Realreed. The other appointments were due to be in flats belonging to private owners. Realreed is the freeholder of those flats, meaning Mr Moran makes money from the service charge.
Mr Moran has denied tolerating prostitution in the building and said he had not profited from it. The Conservative Party said all donations ‘are properly and transparently declared’.
