Two hurt as thug hurls rock at bus

-

THE driver of a bus and a woman passenger were hurt after a thug hurled a rock through the windscreen, showering those on board with glass.

Police said the driver was left with neck injuries and the passenger had to be taken to hospital with a fragment of glass in her eye. The attack on the Ninewells to Carnoustie Stagecoach bus in Broughty Ferry on Thursday evening could have caused a crash, officers said.

A Police Scotland spokesman added: ‘The potential consequences of this incident could have been horrendous.’

Dundee city councillor Philip Scott, who represents the Ferry ward, said there had been other recent reports of missiles being thrown at moving buses.
