Housing market stalls

-

hOUSE prices are rising at their slowest rate in six years as the property market comes close to a halt.

the average house was worth £224,578 in November – 0.3pc more than a year earlier, according to halifax. But compared to October, prices dropped 1.4pc.

it comes after former Chancellor George Osborne hiked stamp duty on the most expensive properties, which critics claim has blocked up the market.
