Extra time for Sainsbury’s

SAINSBURY’S and Asda have won a court battle for extra time to respond to the competition regulator over a £14bn merger.

The Competition and Markets Authority declined their request for 11 more days to respond to documents it had given them.

But the Competition Appeal Tribunal last night backed Sainsbury’s and Asda’s plea for the time.
