HEALTHY BALANCE
OVER the past few years, I’ve given up alcohol and smoking. As a result, my skin is better than it was in my 30s. And I now rarely eat gluten and sugar. This has transformed my body shape — I’ve lost 10lb and have less cellulite and no muffin-top. But I still treat myself now and then: having a balance is healthy.
RETRO WORKOUTS
I’VE been too busy for the gym since founding my business in 2010. Instead, I run with my dog and work out at home, using the Buns Of Steel exercise video from 1987. It’s hilarious, but I haven’t found anything as effective. It works your butt, abs and arms. I remember doing it for the first time in my 20s — it was so hard, I fell over the next morning! You can watch it on YouTube. I do it twice a week, with 3kg ankle weights for an extra challenge.
BOTOX BOOST
ONCE a year, I have Botox around my eyes and on my forehead (£250, derma
doc.co.uk). I’ve done it since my 40s. I usually get it for summer or a special occasion. I think it looks terrible done in excess. This is enough to refresh my look and boost my confidence.
COLLAGEN SHOTS
THYROID problems make my skin dry. A friend recommended Rejuvenated Collagen Shots (£39.95, rejuvenated.
co.uk). They contain marine collagen, hyaluronic acid and other vitamins designed to nourish skin from within. I have noticed a big difference: I forgot them during a recent week’s holiday and my skin felt less plump and firm.
MAGIC INGREDIENT
TO LOOK good, you need to feel good. I used to get run down, as I travelled a lot for work. I’m obsessed with bee products, such as propolis, an antibacterial substance they make to protect their hives. Some nutritionists recommend it for strengthening the immune system and healing skin. This inspired me to create a range of daily supplements with nutritionists, containing propolis and other super nutrients (unbeelievablehealth.co.uk).
