as another depressing reminder of man’s mistreatment of the natural world.

BRUCE WILLIS’S third outing as luckless cop John McClane (pictured) sees John McTiernan (who also helmed the first film) back in the director’s chair. Jeremy Irons’s master crim supplies the cat-and-mouse plot in a tense, but nicely tongue-in-cheek, roller-coaster ride.

MARIA MONTEZ is Sherazade in this exotic Universal Pictures tale, loosely inspired by The Thousand And One Nights. The dancer and her circus troupe hide exiled caliph Haroun al-Rashid (the not-so-exotic Jon Hall) from his murderous brother (Leif Erickson) — who also has eyes on Sherazade.
