HAMZA SON QUIZZED OVER PARTY DEATH

Hate preacher’s boy arrested after New Year’s Eve stabbing

THE son of hook-handed hate preacher Abu Hamza has been questioned over the murder of a doorman at a suspected sex party.

Imran Mostafa Kamel, 26, whose radical father is serving time in a high-security U.S. prison, was held after a nine-strong group of gate-crashers tried to force their way into the event at a £12.5million townhouse in Mayfair on New Year’s Eve.

Doorman Tudor Simionov, 33, was fatally stabbed in the chest as he tried to stop the group. Notorious fraudster and self-styled ‘Lord’ Eddie Davenport has been linked to the event at the Park Lane property known as a base for swingers’ parties.

Kamel was arrested at his home in Ealing, West London, on New Year’s Day. One of Hamza’s seven children, he was yesterday charged with firearms offences after police searches at his property.

He appeared before Westminster magistrates accused of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear or danger and possession of a firearm when prohibited for life. Police said the offences were ‘not directly connected’ to Mr Simionov’s death or the stabbing of three other members of staff at the party. Kamel spoke only to confirm his name during the hearing. He was remanded in custody at Wandsworth Prison and will make his next court appearance at the Old Bailey on January 31.

Relatives seemed unaware he had been questioned in connection with the Mayfair murder.

When approached at the Hamza family home in Shepherd’s Bush, West London, an unidentified woman said: ‘He’s been arrested? Oh my God.’

Police investigating the Mayfair fracas arrested another 26-year-old man on suspicion of murder on Wednesday.

Swingers’ parties have been advertised at the Park Lane property by the London Adult Party Club. One party employee said Davenport, nicknamed ‘Fast Eddie’, had been involved at the ‘wild’ New Year’s Eve event. The unnamed employee said drug-fuelled sex parties are regularly hosted there, with guests paying up to £3,000 to get in.

Mr Davenport’s lawyer has insisted he was not the organiser of the New Year’s Eve event.

Neighbours said the property is a hub for antisocial behaviour. One said: ‘You see women wearing very little and drunken men in big cars pulling up late at night, especially at weekends.’

Mr Simionov had travelled to the UK from his native Romania only two months ago in search of a ‘better life’ with girlfriend Madalina Anghel.

Hamza, 60, came to the attention of the authorities for spouting radical views during a reign as imam of Finsbury Park mosque in North London.

He was extradited to the U.S. in 2012 following a lengthy legal battle and convicted two years later in New York on 11 terrorism charges.
